Title-chasing Kenya Police FC has bolstered their roster to compete for a first-ever FKF premier League championship by signing goalkeeper Patrick Matasi from Tusker FC.
Matasi played his final game for Tusker FC on February 26 when they defeated Posta Rangers 1-0. He hasn't participated in the past three games because he was allowed more time to finalize the transfer.
At the beginning of the season, Matasi had drawn the attention of the Police, but the club resisted panicking and held on to the goalkeeper, who still had one year left on his contract.
However, the two clubs have finally come to an amicable financial agreement for the 35-year-old shot-stopper with 18 clean sheets last season with three months left on his deal.

"During the good times and the bad, I have enjoyed my time at Tusker FC. I appreciate the team's assistance and what they have done for me. Life is what it is, and occasionally we all need to move. "I'm confident that those still working will continue," stated Matasi.
"I am anticipating working with Police," he continued. I am aware that there will be competition for spots. Therefore I won't just join the starting lineup. He continued, I will need to battle for my position since Job (Ochieng) has worked hard there and done some nice stuff.
Tusker will suffer significantly from Matasi's departure as they seek to defend their crown and will miss his leadership and talent.
After previously securing the services of left back Aboud Omar and striker Derrick Otanga, it will be another significant arrival and a declaration of determination for the Police.
The signing of Patrick Matrasi by Police Fc comes days after the team's head coach Francis Matasi said he is looking forward to building a title-winning club at Police FC.
Matasi is one of the country's best goalkeepers and will boost the Police FC squad and help them in the title challenge race.
