According to a team source who spoke to AFP on Monday, Kylian Mbappe has taken over as France's captain instead of Hugo Lloris. Hugo Lloris left his position last year.
The 24-year-old forward for Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappe, accepted the offer after negotiations with Didier Deschamps earlier.
Tottenham goalie Lloris retired from international competition after his team's defeat in the World Cup final a month ago.
Lloris, 36, served as the skipper for more than ten years.
