While a sizable group of spectators and media had gathered outside to watch Bayern Munich's new coach Thomas Tuchel's first day of practice, just a small group of individuals had gathered on the practice field.
Only two practices with the whole squad are allowed before Saturday's crucial Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund because most of the team is abroad on international duty.
Apart from six young players and a few benchwarmers from the professional team, only Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting arrived for duty. The 49-year-old appeared to be handling the situation calmly. It's not only a wild assumption to think that Julian Nagelsmann's replacement may have had an easier transition.
Nonetheless, the former coach of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain accepted the situation as it was and began with a brief session and many amusing remarks because he appeared to be in a good mood. He gave Sane a light kick to the back before yelling numerous encouraging words to the struggling forward. Last Friday, the new coach committed to being a genuine "player's coach," aiming to " improve all players" by signing a contract that would last until 2025.
