Luke Shaw, a defender for Manchester United, has agreed to a new four-year deal to keep him with the team through June 2027.

The 27-year-old joined Old Trafford from Southampton in 2014 and will now spend more than ten years there.

Shaw has had a fantastic season while playing for manager Erik Ten Hag, making 36 appearances across all competitions, contributing six assists in addition to one goal.

Shaw stated, "I signed for this incredible club nine years ago, and I'm happy to be extending my stay.

"Since moving to Manchester all those years ago, I've developed significantly, both as a person and a player; I now understand what it takes to succeed at a club like this.

"With the manager and his coaching staff, we're just starting. Even if we've already had success this season, we still desire much more. This is a fantastic chance to create something unique, and I will do anything to be a part of it.

Shaw, who has appeared in 249 games for Manchester United, received criticism from Jose Mourinho while the Portuguese manager was in charge, telling Shaw that "he has to grow up" and "has to develop" after having to guide him through a game against Everton.

Shaw has resumed his regular role under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Mourinho's replacement, and Ten Hag. This season, he has played both left-back and centre-back.

Luke has developed into one of the top defenders in the world, according to the club's football director John Murtough. "Luke is a very essential player to the squad," he added.

He has worked at the club for almost ten years and is aware of the high standards and expectations for success that must be met.

We are all eager to watch him wear a Manchester United jersey for years since he has added leadership to his other exceptional skills.

Shaw has 29 England caps and three goals, including the game-winning strike against Italy in the Euro 2020 championship.
