Adrian Mwangi won the first leg of the KCB East Africa Gold Tour on Saturday, defeating his closest opponent Emmanuel Nyakaberia at the par 72 Vetlab golf course.

Mwangi scored 39 Stableford points to defeat Nyakaberia, who scored 36.

"I am pleased with my victory here today." The KCB Group has done an outstanding job kicking off the tour here at Vetlab. As a team, we couldn't let this opportunity pass us by. "I can say my swing was there, and the nice weather also helped," Mwangi added.

Caroline Mokeria, playing off handicap 45, earned 37 points to edge handicap 39 Grace Katumbi on countback. Alice Adere finished in third place with 35 points.

Schola Onsongo-handicap, 34, an experienced women's golfer, won the staff winner title with 37 points, while Allan Kirui-handicap, 26, finished second with 34 points.

The tournament will travel to Eldoret Golf Club for the second leg before arriving in Limuru for the third leg in two weeks.
