Kakamega Homeboyz, the newly crowned FKF Cup champions, will showcase their trophy to local supporters in Kakamega County.

Homeboyz won their first league championship and a spot in the CAF Confederations Cup after defeating Tusker by a single goal.

The team will parade the trophy around Eshisiru, Lubao, Shinyalu, Khayega, Hospital Road, and the town centre before going to Bukhungu Stadium, according to club chairman Cleophas "Toto" Shimanyula.

Our convoy leaves Kiboswa this morning and travels through Center Eshisiru, Lubao, Khayega, Hospital Road, and the town before heading to Bukhungu Stadium for the main event. We arrive in Kakamega around midday.

Since this is their team, we anticipate seeing a large turnout of supporters during the parade and event, Shimanyula added.

At Bukhungu Stadium, the squad will hand the trophy to Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa.

We are making plans with the Governor in Bukhungu because we want him to accept the trophy.

All of us, including the players, supporters, and county officials, will be present for this event, where speeches will be given by the club captain, the governor, and other club officials in honour of our squad, according to Shimanyula.

Shimanyula is optimistic the team is headed on the right path and will do an excellent job of representing the nation at the continental championship.

Homeboyz defeated AFC Leopards 2-1 in the semifinals to go to the championship game against The Brewers.
