Before their first Premier League match of the year against Wolves on August 14, Manchester United will make a decision regarding forward Mason Greenwood's future.

On February 2, a number of grave accusations against Greenwood, including attempted rape and violence, were dismissed.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service, key witnesses withdrew and new information surfaced.
It meant there was “no longer a realistic prospect of conviction”. At the time, a statement released on 21-year-old Greenwood’s behalf said he was “relieved”.

However, United then said they were launching their own investigation.
Since then, Greenwood has not been available for selection and has not participated at the club's Carrington training facility. His United deal expires in June 2025.

When asked about the circumstance at the beginning of United's current American tour, manager Erik ten Hag replied that he had expressed his ideas on the subject but that it was up to others at the club to make a decision.
It is understood that process is now near its conclusion, with an announcement anticipated at some point ahead of the Wolves game.
