The USA international Sergino Dest appears to have transferred from Barcelona to PSV Eindhoven on loan. PSV Eindhoven may have the option to make this transfer permanent in the future if they decide to do so. This transfer was announced with the option to buy. Dest will also be playing for PSV against Rangers in the opening leg of the Champions League playoffs in Glasgow. Dest will now have the chance to play more and get more experience in European competition with PSV Eindhoven thanks to this move.
“I like the style of football they play at PSV. I think it suits me very well,” Dest told the PSV website.
Dest began his career at Ajax before joining Barcelona in 2020. He was born in the Netherlands.
He was selected for the United States team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar thanks to his father's eligibility. He has played for his country on 26 occasions.
“He is a very skillful and creative defender who can help the team with his explosive power and attacking intentions,” said PSV’s director of football Earnie Stewart, also a Dutch-born US international. “He is as fit as a fiddle!”
