In this year's New York City Marathon, defending champion Evans Chebet will compete against two-time winner Geoffrey Kamworor on November 5.
Chebet will return to New York to continue his unbeaten streak in the United States, where he became the eighth man in history to win the Boston and New York City races last year.
In April, the 34-year-old successfully defended his Boston championship, outrunning a solid competition that featured world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge.
"I'm feeling very confident as I begin preparations to defend my TCS New York City Marathon title," Chebet remarked. "I understand that no one has won Boston and New York in consecutive years since Bill Rodgers in the 1970s, so I intend to make history."

Kamworor, for his part, will be vying for his third title after winning in 2017 and 2019 and will be looking to improve on his second-place result in this year's London Marathon.
Other Kenyans in the field are 2021 champion Albert Korir, who finished eighth in last year's race, and Edward Cheserek, who will debut over the 42km course.
Shura Kitata, a two-time champion, will lead an Ethiopian team that includes two-time World Championships silver medalist Mosinet Geremew, Jemal Yimer, and Belachew Alemamehu Ameta.
Maru Teferi of Israel, who recently won the world championship silver medal, and Olympic silver medalist Abdi Nageeye of the Netherlands are also in the mix.
Meanwhile, Sharon Lokedi will defend her title in the women's division, where she will face fellow citizens.

Lokedi will compete against a stacked Kenyan field that includes world record holder Brigid Kosgei, Olympic champion Peres Jepchirchir, Boston Marathon champion Hellen Obiri, veteran Edna Kiplagat, Mary Ngugi, and Viola Cheptoo in the women's race.
The New York City Marathon will be the World Marathon Majors' sixth and final leg.
