After a decade together, Teyana Taylor and her husband, Iman Shumpert, have decided to end their marriage. The surprising revelation was shared by the singer and actress on her Instagram account, alongside a picture capturing the couple enjoying each other's company.
“In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while,” Taylor wrote.
“To be 1000% clear, ‘infidelity’ ain’t one of the reasons for our departure.”
“We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children. Most importantly we are family & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married we ain’t ever played with or about that.”
In October 2016, the singer and former NBA player tied the knot, following their engagement announcement at Taylor's baby shower in November 2015. This joyous event took place while Taylor was expecting their first child, Junie.
Unexpectedly, in December 2015, Shumpert played the role of midwife, delivering Junie at home in the couple's bathroom. They extended their family further with the arrival of their second child, Rue, in September 2020.
