Following his error as the video assistant referee during Liverpool's defeat at Tottenham, Darren England was substituted as the fourth official for Sunday's Premier League match between Nottingham Forest and Brentford. England was unable to correct a mistaken call on the field that led to the disallowance of a Luis Diaz goal for offside, resulting in a 2-1 loss for Liverpool on Saturday.
Dan Cook, who served as the assistant VAR for the match, has been substituted as the assistant referee for the game between Fulham and Chelsea on Monday.
"Craig Pawson will now assume England's duties as fourth official at the City Ground while Eddie Smart will take over from Cook as assistant referee at Craven Cottage," said referees' body PGMOL.
At a scoreline of 0-0 and with Liverpool reduced to 10 men, winger Diaz's goal was initially ruled out on the field. England upheld this decision after a swift VAR review, where the customary offside line graphic was absent.
According to BBC Sport sources, the controversial decision adhered to the correct protocol, but the error arose from human oversight. The lines were drawn in line with standard procedure, and every other aspect underwent thorough scrutiny.

Nonetheless, sources indicate that a momentary lapse of concentration occurred, causing a diversion from the initial on-field decision. This led to a "check complete" confirmation instead of an intervention, which would have resulted in the goal being granted.
It has been reported that referees' chief Howard Webb has addressed the incident with Liverpool.
A PGMOL statement after the game said "a significant human error occurred".
It added: "The goal by Luiz Diaz was disallowed for offside by the on-field team of match officials. This was a clear and obvious factual error and should have resulted in the goal being awarded through VAR intervention, however, the VAR failed to intervene."
