The Wilson Airport in Nairobi's runway lights are currently out of commission, according to a statement from the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

In a statement issued Thursday night, KAA stated that the outage was caused by an unforeseen technical issue.

The authorities apologized to travelers for any inconvenience the outage may have caused, but they also stated that efforts were being made to correct the situation.

“We would like to inform the public that the runway lights at Wilson Airport are currently out of service due to a technical fault. Our team is in the process of identifying the root cause,” read the statement.

“As a precautionary measure, a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our valued passengers and stakeholders.”
