Police officers have launched an investigation into the alleged death of an 11-year-old boy in Kakamega County.
Police claimed the crime occurred at their residence in the Malaika region of the Lugari Constituency.
The minor's relatives, led by Cornelius Mushila, stated that the boy's body was discovered hanging from the roof in their bathroom.
According to accounts, the child left home three days ago for his uncle's residence and was flogged when he returned. He is alleged to have gone home without his parents' approval.
The family has requested a comprehensive investigation into the incident to determine the reason for the boy's death.
The deceased's body was moved to a local mortuary awaiting a postmortem.
