Police officers in Kakamega have launched investigations into the murder of a 49-year-old man whose body was found dumped in a bush in a village in Lugari constituency.

According to Citizen Digital, the victim, Isaac Tatuli, is said to have left his colleagues after finalising arrangements for the removal of the body of his cousin's child from the mortuary ahead of the burial.

The man was headed home but did not reach, and instead, his body was found a few meters from his home on Friday.

The family led by Solomon Kakai and the residents of the area decried the high level of insecurity in the area and called for speedy investigations into the death.

"We were together just yesterday as we finalised preparations for the burial. He didn't return home, only for his body to be discovered dumped in the bush today," he said.

"There is a gang consisting of young people known as 'China' who continue to terrorize residents, especially at night, that security agencies need to deal with."
