Rachel Tabitha, youth leader of the Azimio la Umoja movement, breathes out fire as she decides to teach the police force on their duties during maandamano.

According to Rachel Tabitha, in accordance with article 37 of the constitution, the azimio la Umoja campaign served a letter notice on the Police.

The notice is intended to request security and protection during the peaceful demonstration, not to beg permission from the opposition to hold demonstrations and pickets.

Since every Kenyan is entitled to their rights, she has urged the Police to stop artificially applying Article 24 of the constitution.

Miss Tabitha said notice to the Police in contemplation of Article 37 is not an application to accept or deny the enjoyment of the right of peaceful demonstration. She further went ahead to clarify that it is in fact, the discretion of the protestors to ask for security as they demonstrate.

According to the Youth Leader, the Police cannot arrogate themselves the jurisdiction to apply Article 24 artificially.
