250,000 Jobs Open For Kenyans In Germany, President Ruto Announces

Following German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's state visit to Kenya on Friday, Kenya-Germany relations improved.

President William Ruto urged for the removal of immigration hurdles so that Kenyans can access job opportunities in European countries during a bilateral meeting at State House Nairobi.

As a result, Chancellor Scholz decided to accept 250,000 professional, skilled, and semi-skilled Kenyans to meet Germany's massive labour need.

The two leaders agreed that the globe must work together to control the effects of climate change.

President Ruto stated that climate change conversations should not be restricted to "adaptation, loss, and damage" but should include climate financing, trading, and investment.

President Ruto also announced that the African Climate Action Summit will be held in Nairobi on September 4 and 6.

"This will enable the continent's leaders and experts to consolidate Africa's position ahead of COP28," he said.

In response, Chancellor Scholz pledged financial and technical assistance to the meeting.
