The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said there was disruption and violence at the Azimio opposition coalition-led anti-government protests on Monday. It also noted that a search had been launched for those involved.

On Friday, the DCI released several images on its social media accounts that claim to identify the offenders who utilized the demonstrations for damaging property, assaulting on-duty police officers, and assaulting unarmed individuals.

The DCI claims that during the protests on Monday that Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio party, organized property of unknown value was destroyed and that 33 police officers suffered injuries of varied seriousness and are currently receiving medical attention in hospitals.
The criminals who took advantage of the protests were captured on tape, destroying public property, abusing bystanders, and hurling projectiles at police officers defending life and property while on duty.
The DCI stated that as a result, "property of unknown value was damaged while 33 officers sustained injuries of varying degrees, some of which are currently recovering at various hospitals in the city."
A 15-round magazine for an AK-47 weapon is also said to have been stolen during the chaos.
