Kivutha has told Kalonzo that he is not Ruto’s only competitor. The former Makueni Governor has told Kalonzo that Raila and Karua are going nowhere and they may decide to run for the presidency in 2027.
The statements by Kivutha have however been meeting with hostility with people saying that he is jealous of the steps being made by Kalonzo. The grudge between Kalonzo and Kibwana now seems to have taken a different turn after Kibwana left Azimio for Kenya Kwanza.
On Saturday 26th, Kalonzo promised that in the 2027 elections they will only be two candidates. He said the race is between Ruto and himself. Kalonzo had hinted that starting early campaigns were likely to see him win elections as Ruto did. The former Vice President believes it is his time to shine in the 2027 elections after standing with other leaders for a long time.
