According to Spanish media on Wednesday, Real Madrid is closing in on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old England international is one of the world's brightest talents and is anticipated to fetch more than 100 million euros ($110 million), with Dortmund apparently asking even more.

Bellingham excelled for England at the 2022 World Cup, piquing the interest of Madrid's Champions League semi-final opponents Manchester City.

The midfielder joined Dortmund from Championship club Birmingham City at 17 for 29 million euros ($32 million) and has since proven himself an essential player for the German side.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, any agreement between Madrid and Dortmund would only be made public at the end of the German season, with Bellingham's club behind league leaders Bayern Munich by one point.

Madrid seeks long-term replacements for veteran players such as midfielders Luka Modric, 37, and Toni Kroos, 33.

Los Blancos bought young French duo Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni during the previous two summer transfer windows and sold holding midfielder Casemiro to Manchester United.

Since joining Dortmund in 2020, Bellingham has earned 21 goals in 130 tournaments.
