Betty Kyallo's Ex-Husband Dennis Okari said bye-bye to NTV's Screen late last year.

On Monday, 5, December 2022, Okari confirmed his exit from the media house.

"My assignment at NTV has come to an end. I am grateful to God for the opportunity to serve. I gave it my all, but I would not have done it without the help of an incredible team"

"I hope they continue to shine. It's time to move on to something bigger and greater than myself," he said.

The investigative journalist had been in NTV for 8 years. He covered investigative stories such as exposing the supermarkets in Kenya and how they used unsafe methods to preserve meat and make it look fresh. The Red Alert!

Mr.Okari was also behind the Covid-19 Millionaires where he exposed individuals who took advantage of the pandemic.

Okari has nearly worked for every mainstream media in Kenya starting with The Standard Group, Metro FM, Family Media, Baraka FM, and NTV he is exiting.

Mr. Okari shocked Kenyans especially journalists when he made a decision to quit BBC. It's no doubt that most journalists dream of joining international media spaces like the BBC and CNN. However, after one year Okari resigned. Dennis said the media house did not give him the space he needed to execute his stories.

"A couple of reasons made me leave BBC. I always felt like I wasn't telling the kind of stories I wanted to tell," He said in an interview.

" I really wanted to tell my stories, but BBC was not giving me that platform. BBC is Like a beast and there are so many people so there is no space for you to tell the African people's story the way you want to tell it," added Okari.

This time around, Okari did not resign but was among the latest victim of retrenchment days after former colleague Mark Maasai who had been in the media house for 14 years.

The National Media Group is downsizing and seems to have started with the highest-paid journalist. Okari reportedly earned around Ksh. 550,000 a month.
