Faith Jerop, a young mother from Kwale County says she is in danger after publicly accusing her Russian ex-lover of taking their daughter.
According to Jerop, things took a frightening turn after she spoke out about her ordeal online. In an emotional TikTok video, she claimed that the Russian embassy had contacted her ex-partner, triggering fresh fears for her safety. She says the man still has a spare key to her house, leaving her feeling exposed and vulnerable.
“I haven’t slept at all. I’m scared,” she said in Swahili. “Now I’m wondering what’s on his mind after being called by the embassy and asked to bring my documents and the child’s.”
Jerop is now pleading for financial and legal assistance to help her reunite with her daughter, who remains in Russia. She says she wants to leave her current residence, fearing that her ex may harm her or tamper with her belongings.
Her plea comes as part of a wider fight for custody, which she says began after she agreed to travel to Moscow with her partner and their baby. At the time, he claimed his father was critically ill and wanted to meet his granddaughter before undergoing major surgery.
“He had tears in his eyes,” she recalled. “He said his father might not survive and wanted to see his granddaughter one last time and bless her.”
Moved by compassion, Jerop agreed to travel. But instead of visiting the family home as promised, the trio stayed in a rented apartment in Russia—where, she says, things quickly began to unravel.
