Injuries sustained by three detectives while trying to capture a robbery suspect in Kasarani, Nairobi County, on Sunday are being treated in a hospital.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) claims that the group "came under a hail of fire" when they were pursuing the suspect.

However, after mortally wounding the suspect, they were able to diffuse the situation and take a Ceska pistol from him.

On Monday morning, DCI chief Amin Mohamed visited the officers, who are responding well to care, and sent his best wishes for a quick recovery.
