A 60-year-old man was attacked and shot dead by unknown assailants on Tuesday while herding his cattle in Kamarenge, Tharaka North Sub-county, Tharaka Nithi County.
According to Mahutini Assistant Chief, suspicious residents discovered Njeru Ndoko’s body and wondered why he had not returned home in the evening.

The body has been taken to the Marimanti level 4 mortuary.
Meanwhile, Ndoko's partner, who escaped during the incident, is being treated at a local hospital.
