The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mohamed Amin, has applied for an order to hold two Chinese and three Kenyans to investigate incidents of stolen mobile phones.
The DCI told the court that the two Chinese ran a factory capable of fabricating mobile phones, and police wanted to establish whether stolen phones are being processed there.
Further, the court was told that several items, including phones, were confiscated from the factory by the police, and they require time to carry out further investigations to ascertain their real work.
The two Chinese were arrested on Monday.
According to investigating officers, they have refused to take fingerprints, nor have they produced their work permits.
