A mob attacked two suspects after they snacked a phone from a woman near the Astrol Petrol Station on Lenana Road in Nairobi's Kilimani neighborhood.
Residents and boda boda riders swarmed and descended on the couple, who were on a motorbike, before Kilimani Police Station officials came to the scene and rescued them.
Witnesses, who claimed to recognize them from a previous theft incident, said the suspects stole the phone but fell as they attempted to flee after a boda boda rider hurled a piece of wood in their way.

Due to an increase in theft cases in the region associated with them, they were quickly surrounded by a crowd baying for their blood.
Shouts of "Mmetuzoea sana...kila siku ni masimu za watu..." rang out from various parts of the throng, reflecting the community's displeasure.
Despite the agitated crowd's cries for mob justice, police officers from a nearby station raced to the scene and immediately arrested the two small criminals.
The suspects were stopped at the police station because the woman whose phone had been stolen could record a statement.
