Police officers in Vihiga County are looking for two men who are accused of breaking into the home of two female college students, robbing and raping them.

According to authorities, the two victims shared a room in Hamisi's Kamgoi hamlet and were awakened by two thieves wielding pangas and knives and threatening to kill them if they raised the alarm.

"In their 6 am report to police, the victims who shared a room at Kamgoi village of Shaviringa within Hamisi Sub-county were suddenly woken up by the two robbers who bore pangas and knives, threatening to kill them if they raised any alarm." the report notes.

"The fear-stricken victims' mobile phones were taken away before being forced out of the room to a nearby forest, where they were assaulted, raped, and abandoned. The students informed police that their cell phones were taken away before the guys dragged them out of the room and into a nearby woodland, where they were attacked, raped, and abandoned." it adds.
