On December 5, armed robbery suspect was fatally shot, and two others were apprehended in the Theta area of Juja Sub-County in Kiambu.
Earlier in the evening, three assailants targeted a male victim driving home around 9 pm. Armed with pistols and crude weapons, the men forcibly entered his white Toyota Passo, robbing him of his day's earnings, which had been transferred from his Mpesa account.
Upon receiving information about the incident, detectives from the Operations Support Unit promptly responded to the distress call. They ambushed the three-man gang while they were still inside the motor vehicle.

Despite orders to surrender, one of the suspects defiantly leaped out of the car, drawing his pistol and firing indiscriminately at the officers. A shootout unfolded as the detectives responded in self-defense.
As the gunfire subsided, one of the daring criminals lay lifeless on the walkway. Amidst the chaos, the two accomplices managed to escape, albeit with gunshot wounds to their behinds.
