A family in Alego/Usonga sub-county has been displaced after a mob set fire to their four houses in a suspected revenge mission after the death of their colleague.
The family stated they had to evacuate after arsonists assaulted their home after the death of a 26-year-old man, whom the attackers blamed on a son.
Jane Akech, the accused's mother, said she had gone to the adjacent Mbolori market when she received word that her home had been raided by a group of boda boda riders looking for her son, whom they suspected of killing one of their colleagues.
She claims that after failing to locate her son, the crowd burned one of the houses on fire, leading relatives to flee for their lives.

She claimed that everything on the farm, including goats and poultry, had been burned.
"We fear for our lives as the brothers of the deceased returned armed with machetes," Jane went on to say.
Mr. George Ayoga, Assistant Chief of Kochieng' 'B' sub-location, stated that the fatality occurred during a Christmas football tournament between Moblori FC and a guest team from Busia at Mbolori primary school ground when a struggle broke out between two men following the loss of the game.
He claimed that the two men argued before one of them allegedly stabbed the other in the abdomen.
He was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead when he arrived.
The perpetrator escaped and has not been seen since. The victim's body was taken to the Siaya County referral hospital mortuary to await a postmortem.
