Embu police have warned residents to be cautious as the number of cases of traders selling counterfeit and illegal brew continues to rise during the festive season.

On Thursday, County Police Commander Nicholas said police officers working on a tip-off recovered 40 crates of counterfeit beer and other drinks at a store in Kageri within Siakago Market.

He stated that police were looking for the store's owner.

According to Embu County Criminal Investigations Officer James Githinji, DCI officers have increased their activities. They are collaborating with other agencies due to the counterfeit and illicit brew operators' shift in strategy.
