It is believed that the 27-year-old woman committed suicide, as her body was discovered hanging inside the bathroom of her parents' house in Umiru village, Siaya County.

Herine Okoth, the woman's mother, found the body of Vera Omondi Okoth at around 6:30 in the morning before calling for help.

Cleti Kimaiyo, Commander of Siaya County Police, reports that the mother went to wake the deceased but returned to find her missing in her room.

When she got to Vera's neighboring bathroom, she discovered that her body was hanging there with a rope around her neck.

According to the police's preliminary investigation, the deceased asked her mother yesterday before she went to bed whether she would ever find a job because she had applied to over 500 positions without being hired.

It was also determined that the deceased had graduated from Masinde Muliro University in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in science.

Kimaiyo, who verified the incident, stated that the deceased simply placed all of her certificates on her bed and left no suicide note behind.

According to him, the body was taken to the mortuary of Yala Sub-County Hospital while an autopsy was conducted while the case was being investigated.
