Police officers in Homa Bay have initiated an inquiry after a 76-year-old man was stabbed to death in Lower Kodhoch, Rachuonyo East Sub County, in the wee hours of the night.
Neighbors discovered Lucas Ouko Opuge's body in a pool of blood a few meters from his home on Thursday morning, alerting local security personnel.
Mzee Opuge was last seen on Tuesday evening drinking alcohol at a homestead in their community.
Lower Kodhoch Sub Location Assistant Chief Daniel Odanga confirmed the crime, saying the dead were stabbed in the chin with a knife by unknown suspects who fled after the murder.

As inquiries into the incident continued, the deceased's body was taken to the Rachuonyo South Sub-County hospital mortuary, awaiting a postmortem.
