Clement Kiarie, the driver of Classic King's Bus involved in an accident in the Twin Bridge area on Tuesday, January 7, has been released on Ksh one million bond.

 Kiarie, also known as Taylor, appeared before Molo Principal Magistrate Daisy Mosse on Thursday, January 11.

Kiarie was charged with 15 charges of causing death, one offense of failing to carry insurance, one act of reckless driving, and one other count of transporting 41 uninsured passengers. He pleaded not guilty and was released on a Ksh.1 million bond.

 “The accused needs to be taken for treatment, I can see he is visibly injured,” the magistrate ruled.

Kiarie was operating a PSV bus that was involved in a vehicle accident that killed 15 people near the Twin Bridge area on the Nakuru-Eldoret route.

On Wednesday, he was apprehended and sent to the Mau Summit Police Station.

The case will be discussed on January 29, 2024.
