Residents of Alungo village in Seme sub-county are terrified following a series of attacks by a group of assailants who killed people and set fire to homes.

According to the residents, the gang has killed two people and set fire to two houses thus far.

The gang is alleged to be going around the community demanding money and other valuables, failing which they are said to maim and fire houses before disappearing into the night.

Sharon Akinyi, a resident, claims that the group brutally murdered her husband and co-wife and set fire to their home.

Esther Mboya, another resident from the same community, claims she received a warning letter and her house was burned down by a group demanding money from her.

Residents claim that police are taking too long to catch gang members.

According to Seme sub-county Police Commander Hellen Rotich, the DCI is still investigating the incident, and no one has been detained.
