Police in Gem, Siaya County, are investigating the murder of a 14-year-old boy who was allegedly attacked by a neighbor.
Barack Obama Otieno is said to have been attacked by a neighbor named Charles Ouma Otuor after an argument, beating him on the head and leaving him for dead.
“The incident was reported to our offices in Yala on Wednesday morning by the father of the deceased, Alfayo Otieno,” read in part a police report.
Obama was transported to the Yala Sub County Hospital, where he died from his injuries while receiving treatment.
According to Siaya County Police Chief Cleti Kemboi, the deceased's body has been transported to the Yala Hospital mortuary for an autopsy as police shut in on the main suspect.
