Police officers are investigating a case where a human head was discovered in a freezer of a recently sold house.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, the property was recently sold, and people cleaning the home alerted authorities, claiming that they had discovered human remains in the house.

According to KREX-TV, the freezer was in the residence's front yard and either chest or deep freezer. The Western Slope television station also reported that the people doing the cleaning were the new homeowners. They called the police after finding a bag with what they thought might be human remains inside.
Authorities are currently investigating a probable homicide and haven't said much more than that detectives believe there is no ongoing threat to the public and that this is an "isolated incident."
