Police officers have launched an investigation into the strange death of an Egerton University second-year student.
Key witnesses appeared at the Bungoma police station in Bungoma County.
According to his relatives, Francis Pepela, 23, died while watching an African Cup of Nations (AFCON) play at night in Kanduyi.

The deceased's father, Lazarus Pepela, recounts that when he received the news of his son's death, he was told that Francis had been hit by a caravan and had head injuries. He threw skepticism on the report.
"Some of his friends are saying that there was a scuffle at the place which caused the head injuries. We don't know what the fight was about," he said.
"We expect that the information the witnesses give will help us find the cause of his death."
Francis was studying journalism at Egerton University
Residents have lamented the increased number of insecurity cases in the neighborhood, urging for immediate action from the officials.
