A middle-aged woman is being detained by police in Rarieda, Siaya County, after allegedly stabbing her partner to death at Chianda market.
According to East Katweng's assistant chief, Esau Okoth Onduru, the late Vincent Odiyo was stabbed in the stomach after a disagreement with his girlfriend.
Odiyo was transported to the adjacent Odede dispensary and Bondo Sub County Hospital. Upon arrival, he was confirmed dead.

Police have already inspected the crime scene, which was a residence rented by Macrine Akinyi Omil, the deceased's girlfriend.
They discovered a blood-stained kitchen knife before going to the Bondo Hospital mortuary to view the victim's body.
Omil will be held at the Aram police station until the postmortem results are available.
