A night guard was murdered while his colleague sustained serious head cuts after thieves invaded Karibaribi Secondary School they were guarding on Wednesday.

Further, the gang of six thugs armed with machetes that ambushed the guards and broke all main doors to the administration block of the school also stole sixteen laptops.

According to Citizen Digital, the residents and the school fraternity have faulted the police for failing to act quickly to stop the criminals since the school is about 100 meters away from the Karibaribi police station.

"It is sinister how the thugs who seemed not to be in a hurry executed their mission without police acting," Karibaribi Secondary School BOM Chairperson Hosea Irungu said.

The widow of the murdered guard, Serah Musa, said her husband worked at a sister school during the day and as a watchman at night to feed their five children.

She has called upon the government to bring her husband's killers to book, saying he was the only breadwinner in the family.

Two of their accomplices escaped with gunshot wounds.
