A 15-year prison sentence is awaiting former police officer David Mwongela for the 2020 murder of Ahmed Majid, a young guy, in Nairobi's Majengo neighborhood.

The officer, who was stationed in Shauri Moyo, shot the then-24-year-old three times during an altercation in Majengo that was caught on camera and extensively shared on social media.

According to reports, Majid was asking the policeman why he had detained a man for supposedly having marijuana.

Majengo locals demanded justice for him and his family following his death, which sparked rioting in the town.

Mwongela was punished by Justice Daniel Ogembo, who had found him guilty in January of this year.
