An investigation has been launched by police in Emurua Dikirr, Narok County, following the suicide death of a 13-year-old Grade 8 student in the Changina area.

Boniface Kavoo, the head of Trans Mara East Sub-county Police, reported that the deceased's body was discovered inside their homestead, hanging from a tree branch, with a rope around his neck.

According to Mr. Kavoo, the deceased was a student at Changina Primary School. Before his mother discovered his body, he reportedly got into an argument with his older brother about why he hadn't shown up for breakfast on time.

"We visited the scene, the body had no physical injuries apart from a few bruises on the neck where the rope gripped. We also didn't find any suicide note at the scene," added the police boss.

The deceased's mother described the incident as unfortunate, stating that her son had no personal differences with any family members and that she was unable to express the horror she had witnessed adequately.

Before transferring the body to the morgue at Kapkatet Hospital, police cleared the scene.
