Police officers in Likuyani constituency, Kakamega county, have launched a probe into the mysterious death of a primary school teacher.
According to sources, the body of Mr. Mugera Lugado, a teacher at Matunda Primary School, was found on Monday in a quarry in Lupele village, Soy region.
Residents who arrived at the scene reported finding a motorbike, believed to be the deceased's, partially on the body.

Area sub-chief Oliver Lukuyani confirmed the occurrence, stating that the deceased's body was discovered by a resident who happened to be passing by on the road.
The local administrator said he received a phone call at 7 a.m. notifying him that a man's body had been discovered in the quarry.
A cigarette was apparently discovered in one of the deceased's socks, which raised numerous suspicions.
"The deceased had no known history of cigarette smoking or alcohol consumption," said Chief Lukuyani.
The body was brought to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for postmortem. Police are investigating the incident to determine what happened to the teacher.
