Kenyans are shocked after seeing a video of a man punching a uniformed police officer without restraint.

There is a short altercation between a few men and a policeman who seems to be leaving the scene in the video posted on X.  The crowd appears enraged, and someone can be heard saying, "sameheaneni bana."

"Hakuna kusameheana hapa," someone, who appears to be the man driving a BMW, says as he approaches angrily.

A man in blue jeans and a red hoodie walks up to the cop, says, "We unaingilia..." and then punches him in the face as the temperature rises. The policeman is surprised, and his headgear comes off in the violent chaos.

"Weee unapiga polisi?" a chorus sounds as men approach the aggressor, pushing him back, trying to de-escalate matters.

"Unanipiga?" the officer is also heard repeatedly asking, approaching the driver in disbelief.

Soon after, additional police officers can be seen walking toward the drama and swiftly apprehending the person as an Administration Police vehicle can be seen approaching.

The story and scenes indicate that the driver of the BMW collided with a boda boda rider. A few meters further on, a motorcycle is lying on the road.

Kenyans have united in denouncing the attacker for his barefaced attack on a police officer, even though neither the identity of the attacker nor the specific road where the disturbance took place has been revealed.

"For the first time, I support a police officer. And it's also funny to see the Police and Nduthi guys reading from the same page. This man has no idea the magnitude of trouble he has just invited in his life," X user Ben Nzomo said.

Another user said, "Punching a police officer? In Kenya? I don't know what to call this. It's definitely not the bravery he thought it is. This is nothing less than a nightmare about to unfold. He's doomed for life!"

On her part, Esther Njeri asked, "How is it possible that the Police and the nduthi gang are both right in this situation? The BMW guy and his bloated ego deserved to be taken down there and then. Road rage can destroy your life completely!"

Waxing a little lyrical, one other observer noted, "A rare occasion of nduthi guys siding with the Police. This video shows, Kenyans don't hate the Police... Kenyans are always hating the institutionalized police corruption, the illogical reasoning of some officers, the extortion and their disregard for the rights of mwananchi... "
