The 56-year-old man's death is being investigated by police in Gem Wagai, Siaya County. His body was discovered dumped at Wambusa village on Thursday morning.
When pedestrians saw the dead, who they later identified as Joseph Sijenyi, they became alarmed and alerted the appropriate authorities, who then came to the scene.
Assistant Chief Lucas Ogola of the area subsequently reported the incident to the Akala Police Station.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo confirmed the incident to the media, stating that when officers responded to the distress call, they found deep cuts on the deceased's body, which he claims are indications that Sijenyi may have been murdered.

While the body of the deceased is being transported to the Bondo Sub-County Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem, inquiries are being conducted to determine the precise cause of death.
