A 40-year-old man from Nanyuki in Laikipia County was sentenced to 40 years in prison for defiling a 10-year-old girl and purposefully infecting her with HIV/AIDS.
The terrible act is reported to have been done by the culprit in May 2023 in Makandura, Laikipia North sub-county.
While delivering the verdict, Nanyuki Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Ben Mararo emphasised that the testimony of the four witnesses given by the prosecution proved the accused's guilt in committing the offence.
