On Saturday, March 2, a tragic incident occurred in Thome estate where a woman, identified as Joan Nzomo, lost her life after falling from the 10th floor of an apartment. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, along with the condition of the man present in the room.

The man, identified as Lawrence Gitonga, was discovered unconscious with eight stab wounds and promptly transported to the hospital. Currently in critical condition, he remains unable to provide a statement to the police at this time.

 Police Findings

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) identified Gitonga as the individual who booked the room with Nzomo, relying on his identification documents and mobile phone records. In their investigation, they also retrieved a knife from the room, suspected to have been used in the stabbing of Gitonga.

Nevertheless, the police are confounded by the conflicting evidence discovered in the short-stay accommodation. Detectives observed signs of a struggle within the room, noting that both the sitting room and the toilet were in disarray. Additionally, bottles of alcohol found in the sitting room suggested that the duo had enjoyed a pleasant time before the tragic turn of events.

The police have not yet determined the motive behind the stabbing and the subsequent fall, and they are actively exploring whether these events were related or purely coincidental. Investigators are also seeking potential witnesses who might have observed or heard anything unusual within the apartment building.

Law enforcement authorities encourage anyone with information that could assist in the ongoing investigation to reach out through their hotline numbers or visit the nearest police station.
