Man found in Mombasa with a phony gun is being questioned by police.
After attempting to elude a police search at the crossing channel, the suspect was taken into custody in Likoni.
Salim Omar Gacheru was the suspect's name, according to police.
“It was after the vigorous inspection that he was found in possession of fake pistol which he had hidden inside his clothes,” police told Citizen Digital.
Likoni police boss Geoffrey Ruheni added that the suspect was handed over to the DCI pending his arraignment.
