Homa Bay police detained a 45-year-old man on Tuesday after he allegedly defiled his 14-year-old daughter in Andingo village.
Before being charged, the suspect is being held at the Ndhiwa police station while the police and children's services department get a medical report.
Chief Samson Owili of the area claims that the suspect has been defiling the fifth-grader in his bed at night.
According to Owili, the suspect and his wife had split up, and he defiled the girl while the wife was away.

The administrator clarified that the girl had been vanishing from the house to protect herself from her father's defilement. When she arrived at school on Monday, the teachers questioned why she had never shown up. She informed them of what had been going on at home.
The student has been brought to the hospital, where he will undergo testing before the suspect is charged.
