Three people, including a police officer, were killed and several others injured in a suspected terrorist attack in Mandera.

According to official reports, the improvised explosive device (IED) burst at the Mama Samaki Hotel in Mandera at about 11 a.m.

 Mandera Police Commander Samwel Mutunga verified the incident; two injured are in critical condition and being treated at the Mandera County Referral Hospital.

According to the police chief, investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) follow critical leads to apprehend the criminals.
