Police in Siaya County have launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a 38-year-old Jua Kali worker.

Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said that the body of Charles Ochieng was discovered outside a neighbor's house in Rai Village, Mulaha.

"The incident was reported at Siaya police station by the area village elder Truphosa Onyango," Kimaiyo stated in a press release.

"The body of Charles Ochieng was outside the house of Mercy Atieno, who is a neighbour," the police report stated.

Siaya police officers responded quickly and discovered the body.

Kimaiyo reported that blood stains were discovered inside the victim's single-room rented residence. The body of the victim was taken to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
