Police officers in Nakuru have arrested a woman for running an illegal spirits business at Kenyatta Estate in Molo Sub-County.

Dorcas Gathoni Njoroge, alias Dorie, the counterfeit spirits baron, was apprehended when Molo Police stormed her residence.

Officers led by Molo Police Station OCS Johnson Lemuna searched the suspect's lavish residence on a tip-off from members of the public, seizing 330 liters of ethanol and other illicit spirits goods.

Molo Sub-County Police Commander Timon Odingo verified the occurrence, citing some complaints about the recycling of alcohol bottles in the region for the packaging of illegal spirits.

He then encouraged relevant government entities to develop ways to combat the unlawful recycling of bottles.

The suspect is being held at Molo Police Station pending arraignment.
